Referral to the dermatologist
- Clear, accurate sheets illustrating pathologies and the standard methods for clinical diagnosis in dermatology patients.
- 100% effective transmission of information to owners.
- This book is well presented and easy to use, making it a useful clinical tool for everyday communication.
The skin is the largest organ of the body and, practically speaking, the most visible, so skin diseases are very obvious and may be concerning for the owner. Dermatology consultations account for a very high percentage of clinical cases, and communication with the owner will be essential in obtaining their cooperation and resolving the problem. Their level of involvement will depend on their understanding of the disease, its course and the therapeutic approach to be taken.
This book aims to provide clear explanations and help the veterinarian make good use of the time they spend communicating with the owner. For this purpose, it discusses physiological aspects of skin function, the main diagnostic tests that can be used and various skin diseases, which are described from a diagnostic standpoint based on the main lesions or clinical signs, among other content.
This second edition also includes new sheets and goes into more detail on certain topics, with updated content that includes the latest diagnostic and therapeutic developments.
The second edition of this book focusing on diagnosis in dermatology is intended to help the veterinarian communicate with pet owners and expands on the content of the first edition with 16 new sheets. The content of the previous edition has also been reviewed and updated as applicable, based on new developments in this specialisation.
The clarity and accuracy of the images in each sheet, together with text written by dermatology specialist Carmen Lorente, undoubtedly make this book an essential tool for dermatological consultation in daily veterinary practice.
