Description
This first, complete reference on standardized methods for laboratory analysis
is tailor-made for clinical toxicologists, containing all relevant data and
protocols for routine and specialized laboratory analysis. All the procedures
described conform to standards stipulated by the International Standards Organisation
(ISO) and academic societies, such as the IUPAC and ICC.
Neatly divided into two volumes, the first deals with requirements for toxicological
analyses, quality assessment, the evaluation of analytical results, forensic
aspects, clinical chemistry and therapeutic drug monitoring, while the second
contains detailed protocols for the analysis of toxicants.
A handy desktop reference for the practitioner.

Author Information
Wolf Külpmann heads the Department of Clinical Chemistry at the Medical University of Hannover (Germany), which is processing more than 4 million clinical analyses per year. One of his main interests is to improve the quality control of clinical analyses by developing standards and reference measurements for a variety of analytes. He is a member of the national (German Standards Institute, DIN), European (CEN) and international (ISO) medical standards institutions. He is also a member of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and of the joint IUPAC/ICC committee on nomenclature, properties and units.
