He coined the term animal electricity to describe the muscle-activating force. One hundred and fifty years after he determined that muscle activation is generated by an electric fluid carried by the nerves, mathematician N. Wiener studied an artificial hand controlled by an electrical current produced in the muscles. This book discusses new developments, procedures and applications of electromyography.
