Editors
David P. Sarment, DDS, MS is in private practice in Alexandria, Virginia. He is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology. He holds a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Paris School of Dentistry, as well as a Master of Science and certificates in Periodontics and Periodontal Prostheses from the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Sarment is the author and coauthor of multiple scientific articles and book chapters. Implantology has been a major focus of his research, and he has been engaged in investigations of precise implant placement methods, as well as advanced diagnostic tools.
He also teaches dental hygienists, dental students, and residents in Periodontics and Prosthodontics, and has given numerous lectures on the diagnosis and treatment planning of dental implants, as well as precision tools for improved placement.
Beth Peshman, RDH lectures extensively about implant dentistry, providing evidence-based information regarding implant maintenance and the business principles to successfully integrate implant dentistry into the mainstream of practice. She founded her company, "Integrating Implants," based on the concepts of best patient care and the win/win philosophy of treatment planning. Ms Peshman received her dental hygiene education at Marquette University, and has published on the profitable integration of implants into general and restorative practices.
Robert F. Faulkner, DDS graduated from The Ohio State University in 1980. Following a one-year hospital residency, he practiced general dentistry in northwest Ohio until 1990, when he returned to an advanced graduate residency program in prosthodontics at the U.C.L.A. School of Dentistry. Dr. Faulkner received his certificate in prosthodontics in 1992 as well as a certificate in maxillofacial prosthetics in 1993. In addition, he received full training through the U.C.L.A. Implant Center during his three year residency training programs. He has lectured extensively on several aspects of prosthodontics and implant dentistry, both nationally and internationally.
Dr. Faulkner is the director of The Ohio Center for Osseointegration, a state-of-the-art continuing education facility for clinicians, technicians, and auxiliaries. He has a faculty appointment as a Lecturer for the Department of Removable Prosthodontics at U.C.L.A. and is a volunteer Assis¬tant Professor of Surgery at the University of Cincinnati, where he conducts the treatment planning seminars for implant dentistry for the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program.
Dr. Faulkner resides in Cincinnati, Ohio where he maintains a private practice limited to fixed and removable prosthodontics, maxillofacial prosthetics, and implant prosthodontics.
