About the Author(s)
Carol J. Green, PhD, MN, RN, CNE-Professor, Graceland University School of Nursing, Independence, Missouri
Dr. Carol Green has been a nurse educator for over 28 years. Currently, she teaches in the graduate program at Graceland University School of Nursing in Independence, Missouri. She is the author of Critical Thinking in Nursing: Case Studies across the Curriculum, author of Maternal and Newborn Nursing Care Plans, co-editor of Phipps’s Medical Surgical Nursing, and co-author of the 2011 edition of Swearingen’s Manual of Medical-Surgical Nursing. She holds a PhD, MN and BSN from the University of Kansas, and holds the nurse educator certification from the National League for Nursing. Dr. Green served 20 years in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps, retiring as a Captain. Her clinical experience includes maternity, perioperative, postanesthesia recovery, and critical care nursing in addition to her teaching experience. She has made numerous national presentations on critical thinking, test item writing, immunology and renal nursing.
