The Neonatal Resuscitation Program (R) (NRP (R)) course conveys an evidence-based approach to care of the newborn at birth and facilitates effective team-based care for healthcare professionals who care for newborns at the time of delivery. NRP utilizes a blended learning approach, which includes online testing and hands-on case-based simulation/debriefing that focus on critical leadership, communication, and team-work skills.
The NRP, 8th Edition, introduces a new educational methodology to better meet the needs of health care professionals who manage the newly born baby. New in the 8th edition:

Gary Weiner, MD, FAAP, is Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and a practicing neonatologist at the University of Michigan's C.S. Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He is a member of the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation's Neonatal Life Support Task Force and the American Heart Association's Resuscitation Guidelines Writing Group.
Jeanette Zaichkin, RN, MN, NNP-BC, has been a neonatal nurse for more than 30 years. She graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA, and received her master's degree from the University of Washington. Jeanette has worked as a staff nurse, clinical nurse specialist, manager, and outreach coordinator in a variety of settings, including community hospitals and major medical centers. She has served as a nurse consultant for the American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Steering Committee since 1998, is co-editor of the Textbook of Neonatal Resuscitation and creates many of the education materials for the program. Jeanette is a nurse author and editor and provides consultation and program development for simulation-based resuscitation training across the United States.
